THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening in Peosta, Iowa for a GQM whose responsibilities play a crucial role in business by ensuring that products meet certain standards of quality. They plan, direct or coordinate quality assurance programs and formulate quality control policies. They also work to improve an organization's efficiency and profitability by reducing waste.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the Team of Quality Tech on all shifts.
  • Work with our customers to develop PPAP information for the products manufactured at Michelin-Peosta.
  • Provide Quality support to new product development, ECN system and cost reduction programs.
  • Work with our suppliers to correct quality issues and improve the quality of the parts we receive through CAR’s and audits.
  • Determine disposition of non-conforming parts and assemblies.
  • Ensure that quality processed developed conform to the quality management systems and requirements of the ISO9001:2015.
  • Maintain and improve employee quality training programs.
  • Support the Quality requirements for new projects.
  • Conduct process audits throughout the plant.
  • Travel up to 10%, but mainly day trips to local suppliers to perform audits.
  • Support the EMS, QMS & H&S systems
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Quality Engineering or related field.
  • 2-3 years in people management.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience in a Quality field is helpful, but not required. Automotive or Ag assembly experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of APQP and AIAG formats, measurement systems and tools such as bore gauges, depth gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.; Working with ECNs, CAR, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control plans preferred, but not required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of drawing and schematic interpretation and GD&T preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
  • Attention to detail, data accuracy.
