Even more successful - with diversity.

To be effective, our ideas must be effectively put into practice. Our culture, which we continuously improve, has an impact on the entire company, in the community and on the next generation. Michelin's focus on diversity and inclusion opens up a more dynamic environment where new and different ideas can be exchanged to stimulate innovation and drive results. That is the value of diversity.

A culture where inclusion and empowerment are not just buzzwords

At Michelin, we believe our strength lies in diversity. By bringing together teams from different cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and skills, we foster fresh thinking and innovation. It’s this blend of perspectives that drives our ideas forward and helps us shape the future of mobility—together.

Women like Maria Röttger, who has headed the Management Board Europe North since June 2022, show how leadership and diversity go hand in hand. And our diversity initiatives ensure that every contribution counts. Our teams grow together, learn from each other, and are so much more innovative and efficient as a result.

Ideas only have an impact when they are actually implemented. At Michelin, we are creating a culture that empowers teams, supports the community, and inspires the next generation. Diversity and inclusion create space for new perspectives, stimulate creativity, and drive innovation. This is the value we live by together.

AND THIS IS HOW WE LIVE DIVERSITY

  • Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee Europe North at Michelin consists of 20 members from different countries and is responsible for the strategic management of all DEI activities in Northern Europe. The aim is to establish diversity as a driver of growth, eliminate discrimination, and enable all employees to develop freely.

Various working groups ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are practiced throughout the company.

  • Diversity Check

With our internal Diversity Check, we analyse in four steps how diverse, inclusive, and equal in opportunity teams at Michelin are. In addition to a self-assessment and an inclusion questionnaire, we observe team meetings and behaviors to get a holistic picture.

The aim is not to evaluate, but to identify specific opportunities for further development.

  • Unconscious Bias & Stereotype Training

Everyone has unconscious thought patterns that influence our behaviour—including in our everyday working lives. That's why we have introduced training courses for all managers (and, since 2022, for other employees too) to help them recognise and reduce unconscious biases in their decision-making.

This is how we promote fair processes—from the application stage to day-to-day collaboration.

Et Voilà! The Taste of Michelin EUN 🍽️🌍

For Diversity Day 2025, we celebrated a very special project at Michelin: our first internal cookbook—featuring over 65 favourite recipes and accompanying personal stories from employees across Northern Europe. The result is a culinary reflection of our diversity, united by our ICARE corporate values.

All proceeds from the sale were donated to local organisations, including Tafel Deutschland e. V., Save the Children Sweden, and Alice Charity in the UK.

We care about giving people a better way forward

  • Disability

We want to create barrier-free workplaces in the long term and further expand our knowledge in dealing with different needs. We seek to inform and educate our teams via periodic communications campaigns, espresso sessions and webinars to further their understanding of different disabilities and how they can help disabled colleagues bring their best selves to work.

  • Women in Motion

At Michelin, we believe that balanced teams are stronger teams. We actively encourage women to pursue careers in commercial and technical fields—particularly in areas like sales and production that have traditionally been male-dominated. Diverse teams bring fresh thinking, spark innovation, and consistently deliver better results.

  • Diversity Charter

Since 2007, Michelin has been a signatory to the Diversity Charter initiative, sending a clear signal in favour of a discrimination-free working environment. Every year, we participate in events such as Diversity Day and Pride Walks to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion both internally and externally.

We take Pride in our employees!

Michelin welcomes and supports all our employees regardless of gender or sexual identity. We are careful to ensure that our policies and processes reflect this, within the scope of the law.

We celebrate Pride every June, both internally with our teams and externally at local Pride events. We also recognise and educate our teams on different aspects of LGBTQIA+ identity throughout the year, with the goal of creating a working environment where all our employees are valued and understood, just as they are.

Menocafé

Menocafé is an employee-led support network that fosters open, inclusive conversations around menopause and women's health. By creating a safe and welcoming space for dialogue, our Menocafé helps normalise these important topics, challenge outdated stigmas, and ensure that women feel supported and empowered at every stage of their careers.

Neurocafé

Neurocafés are inclusive, employee-driven forums that celebrate neurodiversity and promote understanding of neurodivergent experiences in the workplace. These sessions encourage open dialogue, peer support, and allyship, helping to build a culture where every mind is valued.
