Responsibilities:

  • Lead pre-studies to determine the most effective solutions for industrial investment projects, with a primary focus on tire testing and measurement machines.
  • Facilitate the design or integration process, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and relevant standards.
  • Oversee the design, realization, installation, and commissioning of automated control systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, evaluating costs, deadlines, risks, and functional choice criteria.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Support the quality system and methods of the group, including risk analyses and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to obtain validations and achieve key objectives in equipment development.
  • Provide support for prototype projects and existing equipment.
  • Occasional travel may be required, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an automation engineer. Beginners with strong potential may be considered and will receive appropriate training.
  • Experience in designing automated control systems, including drives, servos, electrical panels, safety designs, and measurement systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming standards and software, such as Ladder Logic and Structured Text. Specific experience with Rockwell is a plus.
  • Experience in HMI configuration, programming, and communication. Specific experience with Rockwell is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and resolve issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with internal customers.
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid teamwork and planning skills.
  • Project management experience or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, Teams.

Desirable Skills/Competencies:

  • Knowledge of PLCs, including AB PLC5, AB SLC, AB MicroLogix, AB ControlLogix, Siemens, etc.
  • Familiarity with AC and DC drive systems, servo systems, and safety designs.
  • Experience in electrical panel design.
  • Understanding of measurement techniques, including DAQ, noise reduction, filtering, strain gauge, piezo, etc.
  • Knowledge of networks such as Ethernet, DH+, Modbus TCP, IOlink, etc.
  • Project management skills, including estimating, PCS, MOC, acceptance, etc.
