A typical day at Michelin.

Working on a fixed 7.5-hour 3 set shift pattern of 05:45 – 13:45; 13:45 – 21:45; 21:45 – 05:45, one week of each shift. Your main responsibility will be to assess the condition of the heavy weight tyres for retreading, marking the areas requiring repair; carrying out repairs and ensuring that they are to the standard of preparation required for a Michelin quality product.  You will have ownership of your work area and ensure the process runs in an optimal way to achieve your performance targets and quality requirements.

Working at the heart of our business, you will be responsible for:

  • Repair of heavyweight worn tyres to make them ready for the retreading process.
  • Learning and applying technical information and methods.
  • Adhering to high safety standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Learning to operate different positions in the department to ensure that you receive rotation in your weekly duties
  • Coming to work with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Being adaptable and flexible.As you may be required to work in different areas of the department and plant and occasionally at weekends in busy periods.
  • Provide a working style which actively involves and motivates.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A logical approach to your work and be able to follow processes ensuring compliance in safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to retain information.
  • A can-do attitude, flexibility and team focus.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of the team
  • A willingness to continually learn and grow in the company.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Forklift license is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.
